A DESCRIPTIVE AND COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF TWO TURKISH TRANSLATIONS OF JANE AUSTEN’S PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Translation norms have an important place in descriptive translation theory and these concern not only the translated texts but also society culture to which belong. Norms are related behaviour choices of translators process therefore determine decisions. The decisions taken will be closer source or target languages cultures. Thus, it becomes clear poles adequacy acceptability is translation. 
 This study aims a analysis two versions Jane Austen’s Pride Prejudice, benefitting mainly from Gideon Toury’s approach studies. Through making comparative between text (target texts) via selecting sentences randomly comparing them with texts, revealing objective terms their equivalences main focus this without searching for errors comparison text. In order present analysis, used as guide on macro level, equivalence theory; “adequacy acceptability” texts.
